Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership Names 2023 Board of Directors

GAHP’s board will lead the organization in its efforts to build more affordable housing units at a time when the need in Albuquerque is higher than ever.



Albuquerque, NM, January 24, 2023 – The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership (GAHP) announced today its 2023 Board of Directors and elected officers.

Don Dudley, president of G. Don Dudley Architect Ltd. was elected board president. Dudley owns his own architectural firm and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Tessah Latson, state director for Best Buddies International of New Mexico is vice president. Tessah's career has encompassed education, workforce, and economic development programming and partnership cultivation through an equity lens in Albuquerque and throughout the state of NM. The treasurer is Elvira Lopez, a senior planner at Bernalillo County. Secretary is Juliea Benzaquen. Directors include Russell Brito, land use and permitting administrator for PNM, Sarah Hurteau, executive director of Integrated Biological Solutions, LLC, and Alan Vincioni a broker with Berger Briggs Real Estate & Insurance.


“The need for affordable housing in our city is at an all-time high and our board members are key to GAHP’s ability to provide quality, affordable housing to Albuquerque,” said Felipe Rael, executive director of GAHP. “They truly believe in our vision of building a better Albuquerque.”


GAHP is celebrating its 30th Anniversary on May 4, 2023, with a reception at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Last year, GAHP opened Albuquerque’s newest affordable apartment community for seniors 55 and older, Luminaria Senior Community. This year, GAHP is opening a 92-unit affordable apartment community that will serve the Deaf community, partnering with the Deaf Culture Center of New Mexico.

The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership (GAHP) is a non-profit Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) dedicated to building a better Albuquerque. Our mission is to create exceptional housing communities and provide enrichment services to support household stability, healthy families, and safer neighborhoods. Since 1993, GAHP has been highly successful in bringing the benefits of quality affordable, and market-rate housing to more Albuquerque families. Working primarily in Albuquerque's older neighborhoods, we oversee the design and construction of new, affordable rental homes and developments. GAHP currently owns and operates six affordable housing communities consisting of 478 units, providing housing opportunities to Albuquerque residents at or below 60% Area Median Income (AMI).
