Building a Better Albuquerque

About Us
Dedicated to building a better Albuquerque!
Our Mission
The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership's mission is to create exceptional housing that promotes household stability and vibrant communities.
Our Vision
We envision a future where everyone can create community, connection, and joy in a home of their choice.
It’s been so good to have a place of my own. I got myself a dog too! I love to decorate for myself, I was able to really make this apartment my own. I love it – it’s all mine.

Our Story
The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership (GAHP) is a non-profit Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) dedicated to building a better Albuquerque. Since 1993, GAHP has been highly successful in bringing the benefits of quality affordable and market-rate housing to more Albuquerque families.
In 1996, GAHP developed its first Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) apartment community, Bridge Point Apartments. From 1996 to 2008, the organization developed single family homes and townhomes and delivered first time homebuyer programs to help clients repair their credit and find down-payment assistance to purchase their first home.
Since 2010, GAHP has focused its efforts on developing affordable apartments funded with LIHTC and City of Albuquerque funds. Working primarily in Albuquerque's older neighborhoods, we oversee the design and construction of new, affordable rental homes and developments.
Long before the blueprints are drawn, we work with local neighborhood associations and residents to "co-create" our intentions, ideas, and goals. Listening to their input, acknowledging their needs, and actively engaging the real users, we are able to create housing developments that truly reflect the needs and desires of the community. As a result, our new homes are well received and greeted as positive developments, adding to the community's stability, value, and pride.
GAHP currently owns and operates six affordable housing communities consisting of 478 units, providing housing opportunities to Albuquerque residents at or below 60% Area Median Income (AMI). Our newest community, PAH! Hiland Plaza, is currently under construction with an estimated opening in 2023.
