Mr. Robert Ruth - President
Robert Ruth is the President and Owner of Sunbelt Properties, Inc., a general construction firm, which has been in business since 1979.  His construction expertise is very beneficial to GAHP.  He is a member of the San Felipe de Neri Development Council and a past President and member of the San Felipe Old Town Community Association.  He became a member of the BOD in July 2012. 

Mr. Tony Sylvester - Vice President

Tony Sylvester has been the Special Projects Manager at the Mid-Region Council of Governors since 2004. He is also a part- time faculty member at UNM where he teaches Regional Planning and Public Works. He has a Master’s in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Bloomsburg University. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners since 2006.  He became a board member in July 2011. 

Mrs. Elaine Chavez-Montoya - Treasurer
Elaine Chavez-Montoya is the co-owner of Midtown Family Medicine.  She previously worked as a Micro-Finance Loan Officer for Accion, where she completed the Consumer Credit Counseling Training course.  She used this training when she volunteered to conduct financial literacy classes for the GAHP Home Ownership Counseling Services.  As the Board's Treasurer, Elaine advises the GAHP's Executive Director and Board on financial matters. She became a member of the BOD in July 2012.

Mrs. Juliea Benzaquen - Secretary
Juliea Benzaquen is a new addition to the GAHP Board and is eager to contribute in our future endeavors.  As a current GAHP resident, she is an active member in her local community and a great voice for our residents.  Having a resident on the GAHP Board gives our future developments a deeper connection and a better understanding of resident needs.  She and her late husband moved to New Mexico in 2005. She enjoys the food and people of Albuquerque and being outdoors in nature.  Juliea has a BA in Art Education from the University of New Mexico.  
Mrs. Tessah Latson - Member

Tessah Latson currently serves in the capacity of Director of the Barelas Economic Opportunity Center (BEOC) of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce (AHCC).  Overseeing education and workforce development programs, Tessah manages all program development and partnership cultivation of the BEOC.  She has over 15 years of experience in strategic funding, organizational/program development, community outreach and cross-sector coalition-building. .  She holds a BA from University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a MA in Intercultural Relations, Community Development Emphasis from Lesley University and was honored in 2009 with Business First’s 40 Under Forty award..  Tessah is new to the GAHP BOD, but has claimed New Mexico home since 2002.

Mr. Robert Lucero - Member

Robert Lucero is a long time community activist with strong ties to Albuquerque's South Valley.  Robert is retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Health, where he managed statewide programs on injury and violence prevention.  He has also worked as a Co-Director of Every Child Matters with Voices for Children.  He is currently working part-time for APS as a Community Partner, and is also an advocate for Southwest Bernalillo County organizations on economic, early learning and agricultural issues. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico.  He is currently pursuing his Masters in Secondary Education.  Robert joined the GAHP BOD in October 2010. 

Mr. Don Dudley - Member

As a second generation architect, Don Dudley brings a diverse perspective with regard to housing.  His interest in this building typology began as an undergraduate when he studied housing abroad in the mid '80's and lived in Berlin, Germany.  He later studied under the esteemed housing professor in the southwest, George Anselevicius.  After serving on the senior design staff for Antoine Predock, Don started his own architectural firm and has won numerous awards for projects in the southwest.  He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and has been a guest lecturer and architecture instructor at the University of New Mexico and North Carolina State University.
